A complete guide to taking online exams on Testify.
Before the Exam
Check Exam Schedule
- Go to "My Exams" in sidebar
- View upcoming exams
- Note the date, time, and duration
- Check exam instructions
Prepare Your Device
✅ Technical Requirements:
- Stable internet connection (minimum 2 Mbps)
- Supported browser: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge
- Webcam (if proctoring enabled)
- Microphone (if proctoring enabled)
- Sufficient battery or power connection
✅ System Check:
- Test your internet speed
- Close unnecessary applications
- Clear browser cache
- Disable notifications
- Ensure quiet environment
Review Instructions
Read exam details carefully:
- Total marks
- Duration
- Number of questions
- Marking scheme
- Special instructions
- Proctoring requirements
Starting the Exam
Step 1: Access Exam
- Click "My Exams"
- Find your exam
- Click "Start Exam" button
- Exam appears only during scheduled time
Step 2: Read Instructions
Before starting timer:
- Read all instructions
- Check exam structure
- Note time limit
- Understand marking scheme
- Check if negative marking applies
Step 3: System Checks (if Proctoring Enabled)
Camera Permission:
- Allow camera access
- Position yourself in frame
- Ensure good lighting
- Remove distractions from background
Screen Sharing:
- Allow screen recording if required
- Close other tabs/windows
- Enter full-screen mode
Identity Verification:
- Show ID card if requested

Step 4: Begin Exam
Click "Begin Exam" to start timer.
