Tracking Performance

Monitor your child's exam results, subject-wise analytics, improvement trends, and peer comparisons through the Testify Parent Portal.

Overview

The Parent Portal provides comprehensive performance tracking for each linked child. You can view individual exam results, analyze subject-level strengths and weaknesses, track improvement over time, and see how your child compares to classmates. All data updates automatically as your child takes new exams.

Performance Tracking

Viewing Exam Results

Recent Exams

  1. Navigate to "My Children" and select your child
  2. Click the "Exam Results" tab
  3. The most recent 20 exams are displayed with:
    • Exam Title -- name of the exam
    • Score -- marks obtained out of total marks
    • Percentage -- score as a percentage
    • Correct / Wrong / Unattempted -- question breakdown
    • Rank -- your child's position among all participants
    • Total Participants -- how many students took the exam
    • Duration -- time spent on the exam (in seconds)
    • Submitted At -- when the exam was completed

Understanding the Score Breakdown

Each exam result includes a detailed breakdown:

FieldWhat It Means
Marks ObtainedTotal marks your child earned
Marks PossibleMaximum marks available on the exam
Percentage(Marks Obtained / Marks Possible) x 100
Correct CountNumber of questions answered correctly
Wrong CountNumber of questions answered incorrectly
Unattempted CountNumber of questions not answered
RankPosition relative to other students (1 = highest)

Tip: A high unattempted count may indicate time management issues. Discuss exam strategies with your child if this pattern repeats.

Subject-Wise Analytics

Viewing Subject Performance

  1. Select your child from "My Children"
  2. Click the "Subject Analytics" tab
  3. For each subject, the analytics show:
    • Subject Name -- the academic subject
    • Total Questions -- number of questions attempted in this subject
    • Correct -- number answered correctly
    • Wrong -- number answered incorrectly
    • Unattempted -- number skipped
    • Accuracy -- percentage of correct answers out of total attempted

Interpreting Subject Accuracy

Accuracy RangeAssessment
80% and aboveStrong -- your child excels in this subject
60% - 79%Good -- solid understanding with room for improvement
40% - 59%Average -- additional practice recommended
Below 40%Needs Attention -- consider extra support or tutoring

Subject Analytics

Tip: Focus on subjects with accuracy below 50% for targeted improvement. Share these results with your child's teacher to discuss intervention strategies.

Identifying Weak and Strong Areas

Chapter-Level Analysis

The 360-degree profile breaks performance down to the chapter level.

  1. Select your child and navigate to the "360 Profile" tab
  2. Scroll to the "Weak Areas" section:
    • Lists up to 5 chapters with accuracy below 50%
    • Shows the subject each chapter belongs to
    • Shows total questions and accuracy percentage
  3. Scroll to the "Strong Areas" section:
    • Lists up to 5 chapters with accuracy above 70%
    • Highlights subjects and chapters where your child excels

Minimum Data Threshold

Chapter-level analysis requires at least 3 questions per chapter to appear. This prevents misleading conclusions from very small sample sizes.

Tip: Weak areas identified at the chapter level are excellent targets for revision. Encourage your child to use the AI Tutor or practice mode for these specific chapters.

Monthly Score Trend

  1. Select your child and view the "Trends" section
  2. The monthly trend chart shows:
    • Period -- month and year (e.g., 2026-01, 2026-02)
    • Average Score -- mean percentage for that month
    • Exam Count -- number of exams taken that month
  3. The chart covers the selected time range (default: 90 days)
  • Upward trend -- your child is improving; encourage continued effort
  • Flat trend -- performance is stable; consider setting higher targets
  • Downward trend -- performance is declining; investigate potential causes (difficulty increase, personal issues, engagement drop)
  • High variability -- inconsistent performance; may indicate uneven preparation across subjects

Performance Trend Chart

Comparing with Class Average

Peer Comparison

  1. Select your child and navigate to the "360 Profile" tab
  2. Scroll to the "Peer Comparison" section
  3. View:
    • Percentile -- what percentage of peers your child scores above
    • Class Rank -- position within the class
    • Total Peers -- number of students in the comparison

Understanding Percentile

  • 90th percentile -- scores above 90% of classmates
  • 50th percentile -- scores at the median (middle of the class)
  • Below 25th percentile -- in the bottom quarter; may need additional support

Tip: Focus on percentile rather than raw rank. A rank of 10th out of 40 means your child is in the top 25%, which is strong performance.

360-Degree Profile

The comprehensive 360-degree profile consolidates all performance data into a single view.

Accessing the 360 Profile

  1. Go to "My Children" > select your child
  2. Click "View Full Profile" or the "360 Profile" tab

Activity Feed Across All Children

Unified Feed

  1. Click "Activity Feed" on the parent dashboard
  2. See exam results across all linked children in one feed:
    • Child's name
    • Exam title
    • Score percentage

  3. The feed shows up to 30 recent activities, sorted by most recent

This is the fastest way to see what all your children have been doing without switching between individual profiles.

Adjusting the Time Range

Most analytics screens support a configurable time range.

  1. Look for the "Time Range" selector (default: 90 days)
  2. Options typically include:
    • Last 30 days
    • Last 90 days
    • Last 6 months
    • Last year
    • Custom range
  3. Analytics recalculate based on the selected period

Tip: Use a shorter time range (30 days) for recent performance assessment and a longer range (6 months or 1 year) for long-term trend analysis.

Troubleshooting

No Performance Data Showing

  • Your child may not have taken any exams yet
  • Check the time range -- data may fall outside the selected period
  • Verify the parent-child link is active in "My Children"

Scores Seem Incorrect

  • Scores reflect the grading as completed by the teacher
  • If exams have negative marking, scores may be lower than expected
  • Some exams may still have pending manual grading

Subject Analytics Missing

  • Subject analytics require exam questions to have subject assignments
  • If questions were not tagged with subjects, they appear under "Unknown"
  • Ask the school admin if subject tagging is being used consistently
